1. Introduction

Saivy ("we", "us", or "our") is an Australian-based service that helps consumers find and compare bills and plans across mobile, internet, health insurance, and energy providers using artificial intelligence.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and store your personal information when you use our website and services.

By using Saivy, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal information:

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: your name and email address when you create an account.
  • Search and comparison queries: the bill type, provider preferences, usage details, and location or state you provide when searching for plans.
  • Payment information: if you subscribe to Saivy Pro, your payment details are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card or bank account details on our servers.
  • Communications: any messages or feedback you send to us.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage data: search frequency, features used, pages visited, and interaction patterns.
  • Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies, authentication tokens, and analytics identifiers (see Section 9).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Provide AI-powered bill comparison results tailored to the information you supply.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve our services, including the accuracy of our AI models.
  • Enforce usage limits and rate limiting (for example, the free-tier limit of 3 searches per week).
  • Process Pro subscription payments and manage your account.
  • Communicate with you about service updates, changes to our terms, or responses to your enquiries.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with our legal obligations under Australian law.

4. AI and Data Processing

Saivy uses artificial intelligence, including third-party AI services (such as OpenAI), to extract, analyse, and rank plan information. When you perform a search:

  • Your search query and related parameters are sent to third-party AI providers for processing.
  • We use automated web scraping to gather publicly available plan information from provider websites.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that data sent to AI providers is limited to what is necessary to generate your comparison results and does not include unnecessary personal information.

5. Disclosure of Information

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • Third-party AI service providers (such as OpenAI) for query processing and plan analysis.
  • Payment processors for handling Pro subscription transactions.
  • Analytics providers to help us understand usage patterns and improve our services.
  • Law enforcement or regulatory bodies where required or authorised by Australian law.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your personal information for direct marketing purposes without your consent.

6. Data Security

In accordance with APP 11, we take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL.
  • Secure storage of account credentials using industry-standard hashing.
  • Access controls limiting who within our organisation can access personal information.
  • Regular review of our security practices.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cross-Border Disclosure

In accordance with APP 8, we inform you that your personal information may be disclosed to overseas recipients. Specifically, search queries are processed by AI service providers whose servers may be located outside Australia, including in the United States.

Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipient handles your information in a manner consistent with the APPs.

Under APPs 12 and 13, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of any personal information that is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading.

  • Preference cookies: remember your settings such as dark mode preferences.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of our services.

10. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to comply with our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When your information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it in accordance with APP 11.2.

11. Children

Saivy is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 16 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
